What the experts say about Nearshoring

Compared to nearshoring, Mexico has an advantage by being the eighth economy with the most international trade agreements, with more than 50 countries, which opens a potential market of 1,500 million consumers.

Osmar Zavaleta, Associate Dean of Research at the School of Business and EGADE of Tec de Monterrey

Nearshoring could represent an opportunity for Mexico to boost its economy, so it is necessary for both the public and private sectors and other institutions, such as education and research, to coordinate efforts to successfully respond to this opportunity.

Arturo Molina, winner of the 2023 Insignia, the main category of the Rómulo Garza Award.

Logistics and supply chain research are essential for addressing the specific challenges of nearshoring in Mexico and contribute to the country’s economic and technological progress.

Yasmín Ríos Solís, Leader of the Smart Supply Chain and Logistics research group
